Hailing from Denver, Colorado Glenn Ortega is a guitarist/singer
songwriter, studio arranger and producer.
Glenn's childhood background was engulfed with musical influence
from his multi-instrumentalist grandfather Benny down to his mom Dolly, a jazz
and spanish style vocalist as well as other family members and friends prevalent
on the local Denver music scene.
Glenn's roots are jazz, rock, fusion, pop, and soul. While growing up as a teen
Glenn was fortunate to have been exposed to major league musicians and jam
sessions with Denver's own premier rock guitarist Tommy Bolin (my mentor) and
English heavy weight rocker Deep Purples Glenn Hughes; former relative via
marriage, "I'll show you some shapes big boy." Both these rock and roll icons were
a big influence on Glenn's playing and writing style.
Glenn has over the last several years expanded his musical bouquet with the
addition of piano and keyboards. This affords Glenn the opportunity to expand
and enhance his musical arrangements to also include television and film
soundtracks.
